I teach a special topics course called Invasive Species. It is a 200-level course geared toward Conservation Biology majors, but all students with a background in Biology are welcome. We discuss Charles Elton’s book, work through the Blackburnian pathway of invasion, and discuss ecological/economic impacts. I also teach one lecture on invasive species in the ecology unit of my General Biology lecture (Biol 101).

I am the Invasive Species Education and Outreach Coordinator for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. I provide various invasive species presentations to the public and various stakeholder groups.
In 2018, I worked with a team from UAlbany, BOCES, iMapInvasives, NYS Education Department and others to develop a new invasive species curriculum aligned to the P12 New York State Science Learning Standards.
